IPTV Login Errors — Xtream Codes & M3U Fix (2026)

If channels never appear — or the player rejects username, password, or server URL — you are on the login-error path. Buffering (freezes after a channel starts) is different: use the IPTV buffering fix. This page covers TiviMate, IPTV Smarters, Xtream Codes API, and M3U playlist login failures.

Xtream Codes vs M3U — do not mix them

Xtream Codes API needs three fields: server base URL (with http/https and port), username, and password. An M3U link looks like get.php?username=…&password=…&type=m3u_plus — that belongs in “M3U playlist URL,” not in the Xtream Server box. Mixing the two is the #1 cause of “login failed” while a browser M3U test looks fine.

TiviMate login errors

IPTV Smarters login errors

• Select Xtream Codes Login vs M3U URL to match what your provider sent
• Server field: host and port only — no /get.php path
• After a failed login, clear Smarters cache and retry once

Xtream Codes checklist

1. Confirm http:// or https:// matches what support sent
2. Include the port (e.g. :8080) when provided
3. Test player_api.php in a browser if support asked you to
4. Try without VPN first; then with VPN only if your ISP blocks the host

M3U playlist errors

Paste the full M3U URL into the M3U field. Do not wrap it in quotes. If the list is empty after “success,” wait for sync, then check EPG not loading if channels exist but the guide does not. If no channels at all, contact support with a screenshot of the URL host (hide password).
